James Venneri of 612 Speer St.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Wednesday, Dec. 2,1981 at 8:30 a.m. in the Mon Valley Hosptial. He was 79. Mr. Venneri was born Sept. 15,1902 in Belle Vernon,a son of the late Serafino and Palma Altemara Venneri. A resident of the Belle Vernon area his entire life,he was a former member of North Belle Vernon Borough Council. Mr. Venneri was a member of St. Sebastian R.C.Church and was a life member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. He retired in 1969 as an inspector for the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Allenport Plant. Mr. Venneri was a former Democratic Chairman for North Belle Vernon,Westmoreland County. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Club and the fprmer Italian Beneficial Society. Survivors include his widow, Edith Spadafore Venneri;one son, Lewis A. Venneri of Belle Vernon, two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Pauline) Bashada of Belle Vernon and Lorraine Venneri at home;one sister, Mrs. Catherine Altemara of Monessen;eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held on Saturday,Dec. 5,at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C.Church. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The North Belle Vernon Fire Dept.will hold a memorial service on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
