He was born in West Newton on Dec.31;1899;the son of Simon and Mary Lelco Prosba. Mr.Prosba was a retired employee of Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp.;California;Pa.;having worked as a clerk. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Williamsport;Monongahela Valley Lodge of the F&AM;California and Syria Temple;Pittsburgh. Surviving are his widow;Mae P.Prosba;one son;James E.Prosba of Toms River;N.J.;one stepson;John E.Peterson of Barstow;Calif.;one daughter;Mrs.Diane Thomas of Hagerstown;Md.;three brothers;John Prosba of Irwin;Jacob Prosba of West Newton and Harry Prosba of Belle Vernon;one sister;Esther Prosba of West Newton and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Caleffie and Greenlief Funeral Home;California;after 7:30 p.m.Friday. Services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m.;at the funeral home with the Rev.W.Leroy Jones;pastor of California Methodist Church;in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
