Obituary

James S. Panarella, loving husband and father at the age of 91, of Rostraver Township, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at 5:25 a.m. peacefully at his home. Born April 10, 1921, in Johnstown, Pa., he was the son of the late Spirione and Vita Cirsicone Panarella. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 65 years, Mr. Panarella was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and was a retired shipper from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport Plant. He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the U.S. Army 1923rd engineer aviation battalion, where he was a technician 5th grade, member of the VFW Belle Vernon Post 699 and the Mon Valley Homing Pigeons Club. He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Nickola Rebraca of New York, Antoinette Panarella and Cary Dudgeons of Belle Vernon, and Rosemarie Panarella of Belle Vernon, six grandchildren, Sergia Rebraca, Arielle Rebraca, Erin Wilson and husband, Scott, Chaz Pope, Ronald Pope, and Katarina Rebraca, four great-grandchildren, Isaac Pope, Antonia Djoric, Alexandra Wilson and Ian Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Fuse Panarella March 8, 2011, six brothers, Frank Panarella at birth, Frank, Sam, Charles, Michael, Joseph Panarella, and two sisters, Christine Torina and Anna Anzalone. Private family visitation and funeral services were held Sunday with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183.
