James S. Bowers of Third street and Fallowfield avenue,Charleroi,died suddenly at his home, Thursday, November 8,1956 at 2 a.m. Mr. Bowers was born in Bentleyville,October 12,1914,the son of Jesse O.and Annie L. Stevenson Bowers. He was a member of the American Legion Post 22,V.F.W. Post 167,F.O.E. Lodge,390,Charleroi Ture Verein,and the L.O.O.M. lodge,103. He was an army veteran of World War Two. He came to Charleroi in 1927 from Bentleyville,and was steward at the Charleroi Elks Club. Surviving are four brothers,R. Edgar of North Charleroi,C.W. of North Charleroi,George D. of Aliquippa and John L. Bowers of Charleroi. Friends will be received by the family during hours of 1 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. at the Harold L. Schrock Funeral Home,where services will be held Saturday, November 10,at 2 p.m. Rev. Curtis J. Pattersnn will be in charge. Harold L. Schrock is the funeral director.
