Obituary

Rev. James Raymond West, 92, of Uniontown, went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, July 14, 2016, in Uniontown Hospital. A son of the late Samuel and Alma Paulson West, he was born in Hazelwood on July 25, 1923. He was a pastor and served in several churches, including parishes in Havelock, Ontario from 1970-1998 and then for the next 6 years in South Carolina, and was currently attending the Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church in Brownsville. James served his country in WWII as a Merchant Marine. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Betty J. (Decker) West; four sons and daughters-in-law, Robert West and his wife Kathy of Donora, Kenneth West and his wife Christine of Walhalla, SC, James Ronald West and his wife Susan of Stanton, MI, and Danny Joe West and his wife Jo-Ann of Pickens, SC; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Mishler and her husband Ray of Stanton, MI, Marsha Parker of Peterborough, Ontario and Debra Jean Reck and her husband Fred of Apsley, Ontario, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother, David West of Marion, MI; and a sister Dorothy Williams of Perryopolis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com 724-929-5300. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
