Obituary

James R. Bradford, 67, of 201 Grove Ave., Belle Vernon, died at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, 1992, in his home. Mr. Bradford was born Nov. 16, 1924, in North Charleroi, a son of the late Floyd Bradford and Viola Raisbeck Bradford, who survives and resides in Independence, Mo. He retired in 1983 as an employee of the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation at the Gibsonton Yard, where he was a crane operator. Mr. Bradford was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Charleroi. Mr. Bradford was a charter member and a former member of the Washington Township Lions Club. He had lived in the Belle Vernon area for the last 46 years. On Sept. 28, 1992, he and his wife, Bertie Drotar Bradford, who survives, celebrated 46 years of marriage. Mr. Bradford was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, where he attained the rank of private first class. In addition to his mother and wife, he is also survived by three sons, Arthur D. Bradford of Evans, Ga., James R. Bradford of Middletown, Pa., and John W. Bradford, at home, one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Sally) Bryan, of Aiken, S.C., three brothers, Floyd F. Bradford Jr., of Independence, Mo., Robert B. Bradford of Columbus, Ohio, and Albert D. Bradford of Green Valley, Ariz., one sister, Sara Milatovich, of Lancaster, Ohio, and four grandchildren, Heather, Kyle, Christopher and Jonathan Bradford. Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Services will be held Tuesday,Nov.10,1992,at 11:30 a.m.in the funeral home. Elder Charles Masters and Pastor John C.Park,assisting,will officiate. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc.,is handling arrangements.
