Obituary

James P.Boord,79,of 1817 Service Lane,Monessen,died at 12:30 a.m.Monday,March 30,1981,in Mon Valley Hospital following a brief illness. Mr.Boord was born July 1,1901 in Monessen,a son of the late Ora and Mary Henline Boord. He was employed as an expeditor with U.S.Steel Corporation's Irvin Works until his retirement in 1966. A Protestant by faith,Mr.Boord was preceded in death by a daughter,Betty D'Angelis in 1967. He is survived by his wife,Caroline Eisley Boord,at home,two daughters,Mrs.Cornelius (Jean) Baker,of Monessen and Mrs.Albert (Lois) Burley of Dallas,Texas,a son,James E.Boord,of Annapolis,Md.,three sisters,Mrs.Clement (Virginia) Pireaux of Charleroi,Mrs.Donald (Lillian) Ryland of Uniontown and Mrs.Mario (Rebecca)Boniati of Charleroi,three brothers,Harold and Walter Boord,both of Monessen,and Warren Boord of Rostraver Township,13 grandchildren,and nine great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Rhome Funeral Home,1209 Grand Blvd.,Monessen,Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel,with the Rev.Russell E.Vance III,pastor of St.Paul's Lutheran Church,Monessen,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,is in charge of arrangements.
