James A. McCune, Sr. 79 of Fairhope, Belle Vernon, PA, passed away, Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at home surrounded by his family..
He was born December 30, 1945 in Mendon, South Huntington Township, PA, son of Charles O. McCune and Evelyn Shaffer McCune.
He was a member of Char-Belle Free Methodist Church. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, Nascar and bird watching. He was a huge Steelers and Pirate fan and coached his children and grandchildren in T-ball, softball and midget football.
He is survived by his wife, Donna D. Kerr McCune, daughter, Jamie Lynn Weyant and husband Leon, son, James A McCune and wife Christina, daughter, Jamie Danyell McCune-Miller, son, James Donald McCune, son, David W McCune and wife Melody, sister, Linda Valo, grandchildren, Chelsea McCune, Haverlee McCune, Jason D Miller (Kelsy), Talon Danyell Miller, Conlan McCune, Zaya McCune, Rogan McCune, Lockland McCune, Brindle McCune, Brittany Gross, Heather (Gross) Fogal and Shannon Gross, great grandchildren, Kai K. Miller and Makoa M Miller. Also survived by his beloved dog , Dutchie, favorite cat, Precious and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Ashley McCune; two brothers, Kenneth Gilbert McCune and Charles Eugene McCune, three sisters, Jeannetta Belle Stants, Helen Marie McCune and Sherley Irene McCune. .
Friends will be received Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 12 to 1 pm in the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home, Fayette City, PA. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Kevin Spear officiating.
Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA 15012.
