Obituary

James Manes of 205 Kirk St.,Monessen,died Sunday,Aug.10,1986,at 1:17 p.m.in the emergeny room of Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp.,after being stung by a bee on his left thumb while in the yard of his home. He was 57. Mrs.Manes was born June 17,1929,in Monessen,a son of Christina Stefanidis Manes,who survives and resides in Monessen,and the late Damianos Manes. He was employed as an industrial engineer at the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. His wife,Ida Dolan Manes,is deceased. Mr.Manes was a 1947 graduate of Monessen High School. He was also a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh where he received his master's degree in industrial engineering. Mr.Manes was a U.S.Army veteran. He was a member of St.Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church,Monessen,served as a past master and member of Masonic Lodge No.636,F&AM,Monessen,the Syria Temple,Pittsburgh,and BPO Elks Lodge No.773,Monessen. In addition to his mother,he is survived by one daughter,Mrs.Andrew (Marcy) Yuhasz,of Monessen,one son,James Manes,of Elizabeth,six grandchildren,one sister of Pittsburgh and numerous cousins,nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.in the Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.,1209 Grand Blve.,Monessen. Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m.in St.Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church,Monessen,with the Rev.Father Gregory Wingenbach,pastor,officiating. Masonic services will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon. The Rhome Funeral Home,Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
