Obituary

James M. Nash, 79, of Monessen, went to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 3, 2005, at 5:45 a.m. in Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Jefferson Borough. Born Dec. 11, 1925, in Belle Vernon, he was a son of the late James and Faye Miller Nash. He was a resident of Monessen for the past 28 years, having previously resided in Belle Vernon. Mr. Nash was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church, Monessen, and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen Plant, where he worked as an electrician with 43 years of service. He also was a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, Monessen Croatian Society, MARS, and he was an avid golfer, bowler and bocci player. Mr. Nash was a veteran of World War II, having served in Guam and Iwo Jima with the U.S. Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Betty Dominico Nash, to whom he was married 28 years, one daughter and son-in-law, Dorianne and Jack Sharp, of Virginia Beach, Va., one step son, George Turner Jr., of Uniontown, one step daughter, Sheryl Maiolini and husband Joseph, of Charleroi, one daughter-in-law, Sharon Nash, of Monessen, one sister-in-law, Grace Nash, of Anchorage, Alaska, five grandchildren, Jaimee and Taylor Sharp, and Justin, Leighann and James Nash, one great-grandson, Dax Kelly, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James K. Nash, one brother, George Nash, and one sister, Lee Bahrenburg. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). A Prayer Service will be held Thursday, Oct. 6, at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church with the Rev. Charles P. Esposito, parochial vicar, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Belle Vernon American Legion will conduct services Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
