Obituary

Wednesday afternoon, August 9,1911, Deputy Coroner Dr. W.H. Day and M.J. Cramer, both of Monessen and Dr.J. W. Gordon,of Belle Vernon, held a post mortem over the body of J.M. Garrison, who was found dead on Wednesday morning on the Wilson plan of lots, but nothing was revealed that would indicate anything other than death was from natural causes. The fact that about $400 was missing from the man's pocket as well as a gold watch and chain led to the theory of foul play, but the marks on the body would not bear out the theory. Several slight scratches  across the face and a slight scar on the forehead rather indicated a scuffle but there was nothing to indicate murder.  Mr. Garrison has been a sufferer from heart trouble for some time and at the post mortem this condition stood out prominently and it is now pretty generally believed that the man dropped dead as a result of excitement of over exertion and that the money and watch were taken while the dead man lay on the ground. Mr. Garrison was a member of the M.E.Church of Belle Vernon and the services will be conducted at that church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  The sermon will be preached by the pastor,Rev. J. D.W.Hazelton and interment will be made in the Belle Vernon Cemetey.
