Obituary

James Leroy (Mose) Washington,94,of 7726 Penbrook Place,Landover,Md.,formerly of Monessen,died Thursday,June 30,1994,at 8:30 a.m. in Lafayette Manor,Uniontown. Mr.Washington was born Dec.29,1899,in Braddock,a son of the late Lee and Lula Washington. He was a retired employee of the former Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr.Washington had been a resident of Monessen for many years before moving to Landover,Md. He was a member of a musical quartet called The Wheeling Four. Mr.Washington's wife,Laura,died in 1975. Surviving are a son,David Washington of Greensburg,a daughter,Annie R.Wright of Landover,Md.,and a step-brother,Clyde Wheeler of Monessen. Friends will be received in the chapel of the William R.Taylor Funeral Home,645 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.,the hour of services in the funeral home chapel,wth the Rev.James Edmonds,pastor,Union Baptist Church,Monessen,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R.Taylor Funeral Home (Trudy Taylor Bistol,director) is handling arrangements.
