Obituary

James L.Jones Jr.,20,of 202 Vernon St.,North Belle Vernon,was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m.Saturday,Aug.30,1975,in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. A member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department,he was electrocuted when he brushed against a high tension wire carring 7,200 volts of electricity while helping to fight an apartment house fire in Charleroi. Born Dec.3,1954,in North Charleroi,he was the son of Mr.and Mrs.James R.Jones with whom he resided and who survive. He graduated in 1972 from Belle Vernon Area High School where he played football. A former student at Edinboro State College where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity,he was employed as a warehouseman at Fox Grocery Co.in Rostraver Twp. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Bell-Airs Camping Club,both of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents,the deceased is survived by a brother,David B.,also at home,his paternal grandmother,Mrs.Gladys Jones of Petersburg,Ohio,his maternal grandmother,Mrs.Anna Zuro of Belle Vernon,his paternal great-grandfather,William C.Carrier,also of Petersburg,Ohio. Friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday,Sept.2 in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Wednesday,Sept.3,1975,at 11 a.m.,with the Rev.Dr.S.Arthur Talman of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon in charge. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is the funeral director in charge.
