Obituary

James L. Davis,46, of 1254 Highland Ave.,Monessen,died Sunday, June 26,1966 at 1:50 p.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after a short illness. Born at Mountain Road, Ga.,Nov. 26,1919,he had lived in Monessen 43 years. Mr. Davis was employed at the open hearth department of the Monessen plant of Pittsburgh Steel Co. He was a World War II veteran. Surviving are his widow,Florence; four sons,James,Bruce,Maurice and Gregory,all of Monessen;four daughters, Mrs. Richard (Irene) Bass of Monessen,Debra,Maxine and Sarah,all at home;two brothers, Clyde and Alton,and a sister,Mrs. Napoleon (Kathryn) Madison, all of Monessen and five grandchildren. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. June 27 at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,Monessen.  Service Thursday June 30,at 1 p.m. in Union Baptist Church. Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Beverly C. Draper,funeral director.
