Obituary

James J.Donovan,91,of 426 Jones St.,Belle Vernon,died today at 6:30 a.m. at his home. Mr.Donovan,who was born in Midway,was a member of St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,and its Holy Name Society. A resident of Belle Vernon since 1921,he retired 22 years ago from the P&LE Railroad where he was general foreman of the motive power department of the Newell,Monessen and Brownsville divisions. His wife,Sicily Murphy Donovan,died Dec.15,1954. Surviving are two daughters,Mrs.Julia Flanagan of Belle Vernon,with whom he made his home,and Betty Donovan of Alexandria,Va,,one granddaughter,Betsy Flanagan at home. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,after 7 p.m. Oct.25. Prayer service there Monday,Oct.27,at 10:30 a.m.followed by requiem high mass in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon,at 11 a.m. The Very Rev.Martin J.O'Toole,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director.
