Obituary

James H. Sharp of 106 Grandview Way,Mapleview,president of the Federal Credit Union at the Charleroi plant of Corning Glass Works,died suddenly at 12:05 p.m. Thursday, May 14,1964 in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital.  He was 69. Mr. Sharp retired as a mould maker in the Machine Shop at Corning in Feb.1960,but continued to serve as president of the Credit Union.  He had served previously as foreman in his department. Born Feb. 24,1895,in Millville,N.J.,Mr. Sharp came to Charleroi as a boy and started working in the glass factory at 15.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Macbeth Athletic Association at the Charleroi plant of Corning Glass Works.Surviving are his widow,Mrs. Eulalie LaBorie Sharp;two sons, James D.,Mapleview and Jack H.,North Charleroi;a sister,Mrs. Belford Collins,Ocean City,N.J.,and six grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Harold L.Schrock Funeal Home,226 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,on Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and  7 p.m. to 10 p.m.  Services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home,with Rev. Francis Blair of the First Presbyterian Church of Charleroi in charge.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold L. Schrock is the funeral director.
