James H. Staff Jr., 68, of Carroll Township, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015. He was born Dec. 2, 1946, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late James H. and Josephine Bankowsky Staff Sr. Jim was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He was employed with Rostraver Police Department with 17 years of service. He then was employed with the Century Crane Co., Keystone Crane Co., Bergen Power Piping Co., Timber Line Mfg., Kennywood Park and presently employed as a security guard with the Ringgold School District. Jim was a member of the Mon Valley Shipmates, Masonic veterans of Western PA, IOOF Charleroi Lodge No. 1030, Nucleus Lodge IOOF No. 377, Unified Lodge No. 2 IOOF, Tri-County Masonic Lodge No. 252 where he served as Worshipful Master 1994, 1996, 2000, 2005, 2011, 2012. He received Mason of the year 2012, Past Principal School of Instruction 31st Masonic District, Monessen Royal Arch Chapter No. 164 Past Commander, McKean Commentary No. 80 Past Grand, AL-O-MON Non Tall Cedars of Lebanon Past Patron, and Order of Eastern Star, former member of Syria Shrine and Scottish Highlanders and Drum Major of the Western PA Firefighters Memorial Honor Guard Pipes and Drums. Jim is survived by his wife Noreen Fao Staff; a son, James Michael (Tonya) Staff of Collinsburg; a daughter, Amy Michelle (Rick) Lennex of Donora; five grandchildren, Ricky Lennex III, Crystal Demoss, Brandon Bergstrom, Brittany Staff and Amber Russell: four great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Bergstrom, Kierstyn Kiester, Jolieana and Gianna Pletcher. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his brother, John S. Staff. Friends will be received Thursday 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery with full military rites. The Charleroi IOOF Lodge No. 1030 will conduct a service on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Tri-County Masonic Lodge No. 252 will conduct a service on Friday at 7 p.m. and the Mid-Mon Valley Shipmates will their Two-Bell Ceremony on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at http://www.schrock-hogan.com.
