James H. Beatty, 708 Grant St.,Belle Vernon,died Thursday,Feb. 15,1979 at 4:20 .m. in the Presbyterian Hospital,Pittsburgh. He was 71. Born in Speers,July 25,1907,he was the son of the late James W. and Bessie Walker Beatty. Mr. Beatty resided in Belle Vernon the past 44 years,having formerly lived in Charleroi. Mr. Beatty had retired eight years ago,having been employed as a construction worker. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local 872,Charleroi. Mr. Beatty is survived by his widow,Zora Zubovic Beatty;three sons, James C.Beatty of San Antonio,Texas,Paul E. Beatty of North Charleroi,and Raymond F. Beatty of Pittsburgh;one brother, Robert Beatty of Riversville,W.Va.; five sisters,Mrs. Lena Willis, Mrs. Jean Layman and Mrs. Dorothy Ach,all of Fairmont,W.Va.,Mrs. Beatrice Kornfield and Mrs. Alice Merrill,both of Cleveland,Ohio and three granddaughters in San Antonio,Texas,and two grandsons in Calif. Friends will be received in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home,with the Rev. Charles C. Colas,pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
