James Greer Jr.,74, of 141 Poinciana Drive, Ellenton, Fla.,formerly of North Charleroi,died Sunday,July 26,1992,at the home of his daughter in Fallowfield Township. Born Oct. 23,1917,in Monessen,he was the son of the late James Greer Sr. and Margaret Wilson Greer. Mr. Greer was retired from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. A U.S.Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion Post in Ellenton. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Hill and Ann Eley. Surviving are his wife, Violet O'Daniel Greer;one son, James Greer III of Monessen;one daughter, Mrs. John (Erda) Magruda of Fallowfield Township;two grandchildren,Kelly Cattoni and Jamie Leigh Greer;three brothers,Joseph Greer of Kissimmee,Fla.,and Thomas and William Greer,both of Monessen and one sister, Jenny Jacobson of Monessen. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,where services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Milliken,pastor of First United Methodist Church,Charleroi,officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home.
