James G. Pearce; 72; of Monongahela (Carroll Township); died Saturday; Oct. 27; 2007; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born May 3; 1935; in Monessen; he was the son of the late George and Leah L. Story Pearce. He first worked at the former Monongahela Memorial Hospital as an orderly and X-ray technician; then went on to retire in 1996 as a nuclear medicine technologist at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Mr. Pearce was a graduate of Rostraver High School and served as a medic in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Transfiguration Catholic Church in Monongahela and its Knights of Columbus Council 2600. Mr. Pearce enjoyed reading; learning about history and being home with his family. Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law; Debra Ann and Timothy Saltsman; of Erie; and Theresa Ann Pearce; of Monongahela; three sisters; Nancy Lackner; of Belle Vernon; Linda Glosser; of Dayton; Ohio; and Mary Lou Pearce; of Monessen. Preceding him in death was his wife; Sandra R. Dalola Pearce; on March 24; 2000; and two brothers; George R. and David Pearce. Friends will be received at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME; 216 Chess St.; Monongahela (724-258-6767); from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Transfiguration Catholic Church on Tuesday; Oct. 30; at 10 a.m. with Fr. George Chortos as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
