Obituary

James E. Godissart S.,60,Fayette City,died Sunday, July 26,1992,at 6:55 p.m. in the Mon Valley Hospital,following a lengthy illness.  He was born in Washington Township,Sept. 29,1931,a son of the late Peter and Lorena Neil Godissart. Mr. Godissart was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Brownstown.  He was also a member of the Gummert Lodge 252 F&AM,Fayette City,and the Belle Vernon Chapter 196 of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a technical sergeant with the Second Infantry Division of the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion Post 484 of Fayettte City.  Mr. Godissart was retired as an electrical foreman from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation's Allenport Plant. He is survived by his wife,Phyllis Eileen Jones Godissart;one son and daughter-in-law,James E. and Carol Godissart Jr. of Monessen; one daughter and son-in-law,Jayne Ann and Benjamin Karcesky of Fayette City;three granddaughters,Bethany and Jamie Karcesky and Amanda Godissart;and one sister, Mrs. John (Eula) Zundal of Perryopolis.  In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by two brothers,Clarence and Joseph Godissart. He is also survived by a sister,Mrs. Joseph (Elizabeth) Keracik of Belle Vernon.  He was also a member of the Korean War Veterans Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania,which holds its meetings in Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, Oakland, Pittsburgh. Friends were received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Howrd W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City.  On Wednesday,the remains will be moved and will lie in state in the Christian and Missinonary Alliance Church, Fayette City R.D.1,from 10:30 a.m. til 1 p.m.,when services will be held in the church with the Rev. James Moffett,pastor,officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Brightwell-Daugherty American Legion services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.  Gummert Lodge No. 252 F&AM services will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the fuenral home.  The Howard W. MmcCrory Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
