Obituary

James E. (Bud) Connolly,77,of Lakeforest Drive, Sun City,Ariz.,died Wednesday,Dec.27,2000,in the LaPaz Regional Hospital,Parker,Ariz. A son of Joseph F. and Elizabeth Alberta Morgan Connolly, he was born in Belle Vernon on Jan.3,1923.  He was Catholic by faith. He graduated from Duquesne University as a pharmacist and then from Stetson College of Law as an attorney in 1960.  Mr. Connolly had lived in Sun City since 1981 and formerly in Tucson,Ariz.,Belle Vernon and Monessen. At the time of his death,he was doing relief pharmacy work for LaPaz Regional Hospital and had previously worked as a pharmacist in Washington,D.C. and Florida. He had worked several years at the Monessen plant of the former Pittsburgh Steel Company. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. Survivors include his partner of 28 years, Estella Champion; two daughters and a son-in-law,Elizabeth and Steve Pearson of Myakka City,Fla.and Kathleen Dreher of Sarasota,Fla.and three grandchildren.,Morgan and Carrie Swope and Alan Dreher. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME,INC.,a Golden Rule member firm,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,where Prayer services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. st St. Sebastian R.C.Church in Belle Vernon.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
