Obituary

James Edward Chapman, 48, of Charleroi, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at his home after a short illness. He was born in Barberton, Ohio, on June 16, 1955, the son of the late Ralph Gail Chapman and Geraldine Rumbaugh Chapman. He was Protestant by faith and retired as a cook from Sonny's in Arnold City, Belle Vernon. Mr. Chapman was a veteran of the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He also was a member of the Charleroi VFW Post. Mr. Chapman attended Belle Vernon Area High School and received his GED from the U.S. Air Force. He is survived by two daughters, Jamie (Choban) Chapman of Fayette City and Brittney Chapman of Bentleyville, four grandchildren, one sister, Norma Muccino and husband Mario of Monessen, a beloved girl friend, Sally Bachisma of Charleroi, a loving nephew, Edward Pourzenich, a loving niece, Shelly Swiantek and daughter Alexis, and many other nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, and Thursday, Feb. 19, until 1 p.m., the hour of service. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
