Obituary

James E.Britt of Wick Haven,died suddenly at 8 a.m.Tuesday,Sept.2,1975,at his home. He was 56. Born in North Belle Vernon on March 2,1919,he had lived in Wick Haven since 1960. Mr.Britt was a member of the Church of God,Connellsville,and the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. He was employed at the Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin. He was preceded in death by his mother,Mary Worrell Britt,a son,William,and brother,John. Surviving are his widow,Rose Porter Britt,five sons,Frank of Monongahela,Charles of Belle Vernon R.D.,Ronald of Perryopolis,James of Elm Grove,W.Va.,and Terry,at home,two daughters,Mrs.Lynn (Shirley) Parshall of Perryopolis R.D.2 and Mrs.Harry (Carol) Stuckslager of Perryopolis,his father,Elmer Britt Sr.of Youngstown,Pa.,one brother,Elmer Jr.of Belle Vernon,two sisters,Mrs.Emma Book and Mrs.Ella May Owens,both of Belle Vernon,and seven grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,from 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m.with Pastor John L.Dunlap of the Church of God,Connellsville,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson is funeral director in charge.
