James Cramer,68,of Belle Vernon,died Friday,Sept. 30,1995, in the emergency room of Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. He was a Belle Vernon Borough councilman and the father of Fayette City District Justice Jesse Cramer. Mr. Cramer was stricken ill while attending the Belle Vernon Area-Mt. Pleasant football game at Jim Weir stadium. He was born Jan.14,1920,in Belle Vernon, a son of the late Jessie and Rhoda Bell Cramer. Mr. Cramer was retied from the former Monessen plant of Wheelng-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. He was a U.S.Marine Corps veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Cramer was one of the original organizers of the Belle Vernon Area Midget Football League,which was founded in 1962. He was still coaching the Belle Vernon Wildcats team at the time of his death. In 1965,he organized the Belle Vernon Black Hawks traveling midget football team and coached it until 1970. Mr. Cramer was a member of the Belle Vernon Borough Recreation Committee. Suriving are three sons, Gary Cramer of Mt. Lebanon,James Cramer of Peters Township and Jesse J. Cramer of Belle Vernon;one daughter, Mrs. George (Kathy) Vranesevick of Monroeville;one brother, Joseph Cramer of McKeesport;13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday,October 2,1995 and burial was in Belle Vernon Cemetery under the direction of the Eley Funeral Home Inc.,Fayette City. The family will receive relatives and friends to express their condolences at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the social hall of the Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Company.
