James C. Price, 82, of Baltimore Street, Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 1991, at 1:40 p.m. in the Parish House Personal Care Home, Perryopolis. He was born in Belle Vernon on Sept. 11,1908, a son of the late James Garfield and Mary Schmidt Price. Mr. Price was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon. He was a member and past president and past financial secretary for the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. Additionally, he held memberships in the Knights of Columbus of Belle Vernon and the Belle Vernon Lions Club. He was a former justice of peace in North Belle Vernon and a former board member of the Allenport Credit Union. In 1974 he retired after 48 years as a clerk at Allenport Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jacqueline. Mr. Price is survived by his wife, Sellin Durkin Price; a son and daughter-in-law, James Frederick and Mary Price of Columbia, Md.; and two grandchildren, Andrew and David Price. Friends will be recieved at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Sebastian's Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department will hold a service in the funeral home on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Belle Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 3026 will hold a wake service in the funeral home on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
