Obituary

James B. Ferguson,76,of Monessen,died Saturday,Nov. 30,1996,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Feb. 23,1920,in Monessen,a son of the late Samuel and Anna Drew Ferguson.  Mr. Ferguson was a resident of Monessen all of his life and had retired as an agent after 35 years with Prudential Insurance Company,serving the Mon Valley. He was a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church.  He was an Army veteran of World War II and an alumnus of St. Vincent College. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 28,Monessen Elks Lodge 773,Hilltop Firemen's Club and S.C.O.R.E. Surviving are his wife,Evelyn Organ Ferguson;two daughters,Mrs. Theodore (Margaret Ann) Organ of New Windsor,N.Y.,and Mrs. Paul J.(Genevieve) Shives of Manahawkin,N.J.;two sons,James S. Ferguson of Seattle,Wash.,and Thomas F. Ferguson of Clear Lake City,Texas;two stepsons,Thomas and Theodore Organ;13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his first wife,Helen Hughes Ferguson,a brother,Wilbert Ferguson,and a sister, Margaret Hornbake. Friends will be received in the Robert A. Billick Funeal Home Inc.,Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue,Monessen,Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Blessing Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.in the Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church,Monessen.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Robert A.Billick Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
