James Anthony Berna, 64, of Fayette City, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, Jefferson Borough. Born June 9, 1950, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John A. and Kathryn Jarsulic Berna. A lifelong resident of Fayette City, Jim was an active parishioner of the former Holy Spirit Church where he served as the church organist for over 40 years. He was a current church organist at First Baptist Church in Belle Vernon and First United Methodist Church in Webster. Jim was a retired school bus driver for the Belle Vernon Area School District for 19 years. He was a well known piano tuner/technician throughout the Valley. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Dobosh Berna to whom he was married for almost 40 years; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Steven Milliren of Fayette City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Taurus and Helen Latacki of Ohio, Gary and Linda Reiter of Florida; and a sister and brother-in-law, Constance Jelen and husband, Bob, of Ohio; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Relatives and friends will gather Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Belle Vernon, at 10 a.m. for services with the Rev. Ron Malm Pastor of First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in memory of James Anthony Berna to Jefferson Hospital or UPMC Cancer Center.
