James Andrew Butler; 97; of Chester; W.Va.; formerly of Belle Vernon; died Monday; Dec. 6; 2004 at the home of his son in Chester. A son of the late James and Annie Laura Hope Butler; he was born in Donora on July 5; 1907. Mr. Butler was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church; Colonial Heights; Va.; and retired from Pittsburgh Steel; where he was a chief engineer. Survivors include a daughter; Barbara Jean Johnson of Columbus; Ohio; two sons and daughters-in-law; James D. and Joan Butler of Chester; Va.; and John L. and Lana Butler of Bristol; Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wives; Lucille M. Butler and Elizabeth Butler; and a daughter; Patricia Ann Romine. A Funeral Mass was celebrated today in St. Ann Catholic Church; Colonial Heights. A chapel service; followed by interment; will be Saturday; Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. in Belle Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald Cyktor Jr.; parochial vicar; St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; officiating.
