Obituary

James A. Prentice,62,of Washington RD4,and a native of Gallatin,was dead on arrival of a heart attack at Washington Hospital Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 16,1963 at 4:10 p.m.  He was born in Gallatin on Jan. 15,1901,the son of James and Clara Gilmer Prentice.  He was a farmer. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Martha Dillow Prentice; two sons,James Alfred Prentice of Charleri RD and Woodrow at home ; two daughters, Carol Prentice at home and Mrs. Floyd (Anna Ruth) Christopher of Marianna RD 1;his mother, Mrs. Clara Prentice of Charleroi;five brothers, Frank B.,Harry L,,Eugene W. and David R. of Charleroi and Daniel Prentice of Okmulgee, Okla.. Five sisters, also survive.  They are Mrs. Anna Gray,Mrs. William Saunders,Mrs. Louis Hixon and Mrs. Gladys McCormick of Charleroi and Mrs. Dominick Dimascio,of Van Nuys,Calif.  Fourteen grandchildren are left. Friends are being received at the Harold L. Schrock Funeral Home,Charleroi,during hours of 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.  Services there Saturday, Jan. 19,at 2:30 p.m. in charge of the Rev. Wilbur F. Blackhurst,pastor of Ebenezer Methodist Church,Charleroi R.D.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  Harold L. Schrock, funeral director.
