Obituary

James A. "Hollywood Jim" Pearce,61,of Belle Vernon R.D.1 died on Thursday,March 2,1989,at 6:30 p.m. in the intensive care unit of Jeferson Hospital in Jefferson Borough. He was born in Monessen on Sept. 9,1927,a son of the late William James and Ethel Mae (Walker) Pearce. Mr. Pearce was on disability from the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in the blooming mill department. He served in the U.S.Army from 1946-47 in World War II and from 1949-1951 in the Korean conflict.Mr. Pearce is survived by his wife,Anna Marie Bodnar Pearce,formerly of Elizabeth and currently of Belle Vernon;five sons,James T. and his wife Pam from Webster,and William G.,Michael P.,Edward R. and Leonard J.,all at home;one daughter,Mary Ann of Donora;two brothers, Richard Pearce of Monessen and Edward Pearce of Belle Vernon;three sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Shirley) Romestan of Burgettstown,Mrs. Clyde (Sarah) Stangroom,Mrs. Kenneth (Dolores) Cekus of Monongahela;two granddaughters,Tina Ann and Debra Lynn Pearce,both of Webster;and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home,Inc.,Circle Drive,Sweeney Plan,Rostraver Township,where services will be held Monday,March 6,at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mel Hileman officiating.  Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The James C. Stump Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
