Jack D. Hackenson; 79; of Scott Street; Speers Hill; died Thursday; Feb. 14; 2002; at 6:40 p.m. at his residence. Born Oct. 6; 1922; in Pittsburgh; he was the son of the late Harry and Elvina Whiteman Hackenson. Mr. Hackenson was a resident of Speers Hill for the past 12 years and was retired from Pittsburgh Gage; where he worked in industrial sales. He was a veteran of World War II; having served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife; Doris Britton Hackenson; to whom he was married 61 years; a son and daughter-in-law; Jack E. and Maria Hackenson of Wake Forest; N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law; Linda and Richard Venis of Alpharetta; Ga.; four grandchildren; Troy and Todd Venis; Sheri Woods and Kelli Greer; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Hackenson was the last surviving member of his family and was preceded in death by a daughter; Janet Hackenson Stewart; who died in December 1991; three brothers; Harry; Leo and Elmer Hackenson; and five sisters; Sylvia; Bertha and Violet Hackenson; Mary Momyer and Thelma Schmidt. Services will be held Monday in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy C. McConville; pastor of United Methodist Church; Belle Vernon; officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
