Obituary

Jack C.Lessman of 404 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,died Friday,Jan.4,1985,at 5:20 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital,Carroll Twp. He was 65. Mr. Lessman was born Nov.11,1919,in Charleroi,a son of the late Eugene and Hatti Lessman. He was a retired employee of the Allenport Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr.Lessman,who was Protestant by faith,had resided in the Charleroi area his entire lifetime. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. Mr.Lessman was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 167 and American Legion Post 22,both of Charleroi. Surviving are his wife,Mabel Kistler Lessman,at home,five sons,Curtis and Wayne Lessman,both of Charleroi,Jack Lessman of Somerset,Pa.,Douglas Lessman of Monessen,and Richard Lessman,at home,one daughter,Mrs.Dorothy Schrum,of the State of Ohio,nine grandchildren,two brothers,Dale Lessman of the State of Maryland and Edgar Lessman of the State of Ohio,and one sister,Mildred Reno,of Charleroi. Friends will be received in the Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi,Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev.Jack Brownlee,pastor,First Christian Church,Charleroi,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon. The Carl J.Spallino Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
