Obituary

Iva Blanche Hollinger Steele of Belle Vernon R.D.5,formerly of 30 Knox Ave.,Monessen,died Monday,Oct.28,1985,in Jefferson Hospital,Jefferson Borough. She was 83. Born July 6,1902,in Selbysport,Md.,she was a daughter of the late Willis E.and Flora Hollinger. She was preceded in death by her husband,Charles D.Steele. Mrs.Steele was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen and its Fellowship Class,Women's Socity and Bedpad Committee. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star No.205 and the Royal Arch. Surviving are two daughters,Mrs.William J.(Barbara) McLaren of Griffin,Ga.,and Mrs.John J.(Doris) McClain of Belle Vernon,three grandchildren,Charles and Robin McLaren and John Steele McClain,one great-grandson,William Scott McLaren,and a sister,Mrs.Louis (Irene) Bland of Ohio. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Rhome Funeral Home Inc.,1209 Grand Blvd.Monessen,where services will be held Thursday,Oct.31,at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Kenneth J.Peters officiating. Burial wil be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rhome Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
