Irene Meacci,90,of 35 Sampson St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday, Sept. 30,1991,at 4 a.m. in Haven Crest Inc.,Carroll Township. She was born in Belle Vernon on May 14,1901,a daughter of the late Faustino and Lavina Bellandi Meacci. Miss Meacci was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and charter member of the Belle Vernon Catholic Daughters of Americas Court 1522. She was a member of the Anita Garibaldi Lodge and a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. She had been in the family grocery business for 50 years,having formerly owned Meacci's Grocery in East Belle Vernon. In addiiton to her parents,she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Meacci and two sisters, Sylvia Bartolozzi and Maggie Valdiserri. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Marion (Neva) Evans and Evely M. Jenkins,both of Belle Vernon; a niece, Eleanor Negleman of Pekin, Ill,and three nephews,Leo Valdiserri of Gillespie, Cleo Valdiserri of Belle Vernon and Jordan Bartolozzi of Roscoe. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
