Obituary

Irene E. (Salvino) Baron, 94, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died at 12:55 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Hallsworth House, Monessen. Born Feb. 22, 1918, in Monessen, she was the daughter of the late Guisseppe and Maria Spadafore Salvino. Mrs. Baron was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and Rostraver Township. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Mrs. Baron was a homemaker. She was a member of the former Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Belle Vernon Court 1522, the former Legion of Mary St. Sebastian Church, and the former Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 Ladies Auxiliary Irene loved the sound of big bands and attended many local dances. She was also an avid bowler. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew E. and Justina Baron II of Rostraver Township, three grandchildren, Gabriel Baron of Las Vegas, Geoffrey Baron of Washington, D.C., and Gina and husband, Kenneth Amos, of Whitehall, and great-granddaughter, Kelcie Amos of Whitehall. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew E. Baron, in 1978, and three brothers, James Salvino, Jano E. Salvino and James C. Salvino, and five sisters, Emma Zimmaro, Teresa Scurci, Edith Beneccio, Carrie Palm, and Alice Frankie. She was also preceded by a brother in Italy. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS, Family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Irene Baron at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
