Irene Stark Atkinson of 217 Frederick St., Belle Vernon,died Sunday, May 10,1987,at 9:50 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Twp. She was 78. Mrs. Atkinson was born July 27,1908,in Roscoe, a daughter of the late Robert and Clementine Gollick Stark. A life-long resident of the Mon Valley, she was a member of Lynnwood Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, whe was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Atkinson,Jr.,who died May 21,1966;one daughter, Delma Mood;four brothers and two sisters. Surviving are one daughter,Mrs. Edwin (Nola) Pelczar of Belle Vernon,two brothers, Thomas Stark of Perryopolis and Howard Stark of Roscoe,two sisters, Mrs. Marybelle Neudorfer of Ft. Lauderdale,Fla.,and Mrs. Bessie Flaherty of Elco,one son-in-law, Jack Mood of Fayette City,one grandson,Daniel Pelczar of Monongahela and one granddaughter, Delma Cruz of Anchorage, Alaska. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev. Hartsell Michael, pastor, Lynnwood Lutheran Church,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery,Belle Vernon. The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
