Iona 'Onie' Misher, 84, of Fairhope (Belle Vernon), went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Concordia Hospice of Washington Donnell House. Born in Fairhope on August 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Ava Roley Dorcon. A lifelong resident of Fairhope, Iona was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church of Belle Vernon and the former Holy Spirit Church in Fayette City. Iona was a member of the Naomi Club Ladies Auxiliary and worked at Zelenski's Bridal Shoppe for 10 years until her illness. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Steve Misher Jr. on June 22, 2001, a sister Margaret 'Skippy' Tencer in 2008, and a son-in-law Harry 'Baker' Downer in 2005. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in law, Teresa 'Terry' Downer, and Mary 'Margie' and Robert Yonash, and a son Stephen Misher, with whom she made her home, all of Fairhope, six grandchildren, Jody Downer, Rebecca (Jesse) Wheatley, Douglas Downer, Anthony Misher, Melissa (Solomon) Adams, and Zachary (Chelsea) Yonash, six great grandchildren and one on the way. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com.
