Obituary

Hugh L. Kissler of 109 Belle Vernon Apartments, Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, March 20, 1990, at 3 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 81. Mr. Kissler was born Dec. 23, 1908, in Boswell, a son of the late Frank and Mary Krochil Kissler. Mr. Kissler, who had lived in Belle Vernon for more than 50 years, was a former resident of Morgantown, W. Va. He retired in 1971 as a checker from Irvin Works, U.S. Steel Corp. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal in the infantry. Survivors include his wife, Bertha Dougherty Kissler, one son and daughter-in-law, David L. and Linda Kissler of Belle Vernon, a daughter, Doris Rusak of New Carrolltown, Md., one brother, Albert M. Kissler of Belle Vernon, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,where services will be held Friday at 1 p.m.with the Rev.Dr.Ralph Colas of Calvary Baptist Church,Meadville,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
