Services for Dr.Hubert J.Maxwell;former State Representative and retired dentist in Monessen;will be at 11 a.m.Friday;May 30;1980;in the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home Inc.; Monessen; Westmoreland County. Mr.Maxwell;76;of 1200 Hillcrest Ave.;died Tuesday;May 27;1980;in Mercy Hospital. He was born on January 29;1904;a son of the late Ralph Andrew Maxwell;and Bessie Maxwell who survives. He was a Democratic State Representative from 1941 to 1944 and from 1951 to 1964. He served as Chairman of the House Health and Welfare Committee and on the State Professional Licensing Board. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh Dental School;he had a private practice in Monessen for 40 years before retiring in 1964. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association;American Legion Post 28;Fraternal Order of Eagles 2399 and BPOE 733. He served in the U.S.Air Force during World War II and was a retired captain of the 8th Air Force and was past post commander of VFW Post 1190. He is survived by his wife;Maimie Neill Maxwell;his mother;Bessie Maxwell;a son;Hubert Jr.of Belle Vernon;a daughter;Maxine Davis of Deer Park;Wash. and two grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Thursday;May 29;1980;in the funeral home. The Rev.Charles Colas will officiate. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
