Obituary

Howard A Dayner, 81, of Hill Street, North Belle Vernon,died Sunday, Aug 30. 1998, in Jefferson Hills Nursing Home. Born Feb. 16, 1917, in Belle Vernon, he was a son of the late Frank R. and Mary Flading Dayner. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon. A lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area, Mr. Dayner retired in 1977 as a painting contractor. At the time of his death, he was the oldest living life member of the North Belle Vernon Volunteer Fire Department. A 1934 graduate of North Belle Vernon High School, Mr. Dayner was a former member of the Belle Vernon Lions and the Mon Valley Country Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Denny, in 1962. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Bush Dayner, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on May 1, 1998: one son and daughter-in-law, Dean D. and Mary Kay Dayner of California, Pa., one sister, Thelma Catrino of Belle Vernon, one brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Marge Dayner of Cortland, Ohio: and one grandson, Jason Dayner. Friends wiil be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon,where a Prayer service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is in charge of arrangements.
