H.LaVene Hoffman,88,of Belle Vernon R.D.2 (Rostraver Township) died Wednesday,July 12,1995 at 1:30 p.m. in Presbyterian Medical Center,Washingtton, Pa. She was born in Oakdale on Sept. 22,1906,a daughter of the late Bruno and Jessie McEwen Kenzler. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Charleroi. She was a graduate of California Normal School. She taught the first grade at the Fairhope School from 1927 to 1937. Mrs. Hoffman spent most of her life in the Belle Vernon area. Surviving are one daughter,Mrs. Joseph (Faith) Walker of Charleroi; one sister, Bernice Spencer of Washington, Pa. and two grandaughters, Colleen and Arienne Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,George W. Hoffman,who died Feb. 8,1979. Friends will be received in the Ferguson Funeral Home,Inc. 700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Richard C. Klein of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Donald Dalke of Gratztown Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
