Word has been received here announcing the death at 1 o’clock Wednesday night;May 31;1933;of Hiram J.Nicolay;pioneer resident of Monessen. Death occurred at the home of his daughter;Mrs.C.L.Cook;of Pittsburgh;where Mr.Nicolay and his wife have been making their home for some time. The contributing causes were the infirmities of age. The wife;three sons;Fred;of Youngstown;Ohio;Hugh;of Warren;Ohio;and James D.Nicolay;of Monessen;along with the daughter;Mrs.Cook;survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock;from the home of his daughter;Mrs.C.L.Cook;19 Club Drive;Brentwood. The remains will be brought to the Belle Vernon Cemetery;arriving there probably there about 4 o’clock. The Nicolay family came to Monessen in 1900 and resided here until about ten years ago when the home was broken up and Mr.and Mrs.Nicolay went to reside with their daughter.
