Calm and peacefully, Hilda Francis Majors, 66, of Monessen, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026, in her resid ence with her oldest son by her side. She was born Dec. 31, 1960, and was the daughter of the late Leroy “BoBo” and Thelma Majors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Majors; grandson, Jayden Bassett; three brothers, Daniel Smith, Ronald Smith and Thomas Majors; and six sisters, Elizabeth Majors, Mary Majors, Alice Majors, Cheryl Majors, Ida Ellis and Beverly Towler. Hilda loved the Steelers, the Monessen Greyhounds and spending time with the ones she loved the most, her grandchildren, having her chewing gum and made the best boiled chicken. She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Red Majors, Germey Bassett and Charisse Bassett; 15 grandchildren, Malaya Bassett, Onisty Bassett, Braylon Bassett, Maro Bassett, Ny’asia Bassett, Jaymari Bassett, Faith Bassett, Hope Bassett, Jacoby Bassett, Evan Bassett, Eric Bassett, Zia’Monie Bassett, Cassius Bassett, LOVE Bassett and Grace Bassett; one brother, Percy Majors; two sisters, Cora Lawson and Martha Jackson; goddaughter, O’Shaey Ellis; godson, Timothy Stitch Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. There will be a viewing from noon to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 230 Reed Ave., Monessen. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, with Elder Ricardo Hall, officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Final celebration has been gently placed in the hands of HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, 724-379-5420.
