Obituary

Services will be held Monday,Nov.13,1950,for First Lieutenant Herbert Konecheck,of Belle Vernon,a pilot lost over Augsburg,Germany,on July 19,1944,while flying with the 396th Bomber Squadron. He was born in Belle Vernon on May 3,1917. He enlisted in the U.S.Air Corps on Sept.12,1942 and graduated at Stockton Field,Calif.,where he received his wings. In civilian life,he worked at Duwall Lumber Co.in Belle Vernon. He graduated from Rostraver High School with the class of 1935. He was married March 29,1941 to the former Ruth Geho of Lynnwood.He is survived by his parents,Mr.and Mrs.Nicholas Konecheck of Otto St.,Belle Vernon,three sisters,Mrs.Catherine Boltze of Lynnwood,Mrs.Anne Hackenson of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Emma Jernberg of Beaver Falls,and two brothers,Norman and William,both of Belle Vernon. The body will arrive on Armistice Day at 10 o'clock,from where it will be taken to Toner Funeral Home,Broad avenue,Belle Vernon. Friends will be recieved at Toner's after 7 p.m.Saturday. Military funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the funeral home,in charge of Rev.Charles Fair,pastor of the Lutheran Church in Lynnwood. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Harold R.Toner,funeral director.
