Herbert N. Owens; 76; of Belle Vernon (Fairhope); died Sunday; April 2; 2006; in Mon Valley Hospital Inc.; Carroll Township. He was born Jan. 26; 1930; in Fayette City; a son of the late William C. and Ruth M. Hough Owens. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant. He will be sadly missed by the birds and deer he fed on a daily basis in his yard. Surviving are his wife; Eleanor Welsh Owens; two daughters; Susan Lape and husband Terry; of Belle Vernon; and Lori Vargo and husband John; of Dunlevy; four sons; James Owens and wife Deborah; of Fayette City; William Owens and wife Robin; of Belle Vernon; Herb Owens; of Byesville; Ohio; and Timothy Owens and wife Lane; of Centennial; Colo.; two sisters; Betty Barnes; of Greensburg; and Virginia Book; of Indiana; two brothers; Robert E. Owens; of Charleroi; and Richard Owens; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by infant daughter; Judith Lynn Owens. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; 334 Main St.; Fayette City; on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday; April 6 until 11 a.m.; the hour of services with the Rev.
