Whitsett; he was the son of the
late Herbert and Bessie Moon
Mills.
Mr. Mills was a resident of
Monessen for many years and
attended the public school
system.
He was a former member of
Antioch Baptist Church; Belle
Vernon.
A veteran of the U.S. Army;
Mr. Mills was a member of the
Monessen American Legion.
He was a former employee of
Jones Frozen Foods and retired
from PennDOT.
In addition to his parents; he
was preceded in death by one
brother; Charles; and four
sisters; Marian; Gertrude; Sherdina and Genevieve.
Surviving are his wife; Vivian
Mills; one son; Thomas Johnson
of Cleveland; Ohio; two stepsons; Haywood Jones; at home;
and Derrick Jones of Upper
Marlboro. Md.; his stepmother-in-law; Bernice Robinson of
Charleroi; two brothers; Robert
Mills of Washington; Pa.; and
Melvin and his wife Clyda Mills
of Uniontown; three sisters and
brothers-in-law; Fannie and
Clarence Reid of Flint; Mich.;
Dorothy and George Linton of
Uniontown and Frances and
Albert Smith of Monessen; two
brothers-in-law; Leon and
Melvin Troop of Maryland;
three sisters-in-law; Rosie and
Ariva Troop and Carmen Cintron; all of Maryland; eight
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Mt.
Calvary Baptist Church; Reed
Avenue; Monessen;where services will be held Monday at 11 a.m.with the Rev.Griffin E.Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
