Herbert H. McClain, 90, of Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Residence at Arrowood. The son of the late John and Bertha McClain, he was born on September 25, 1934 in N. Charleroi. A U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Lynnwood Lutheran church, Herbert was a former Mason, and had been a member of the Belle Vernon Lions Club, where he was the club president for several years. He also coached little league baseball for several years. Herbert retired from U.S. Steel in 1986 and owned and operated C. McClain Barns for many years in Irwin until 2010. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Kaye Rose McClain, who he married in 1959, two sons, Mark J. McClain (Joni Musk) of Charleroi, and Curt McClain (Carma) of Perryopolis, a daughter, Karen McClain of York, a daughter-in-law, Lynn McClain of Toledo, OH, two grandchildren, Jessica Harmon and Zachary McClain, and two great grandchildren, Allison Harmon and Issaac James Harmon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eric McClain on December 1, 2023, three brothers, James, John, and George McClain, and three sisters, Betty Brewer, Ellen Burkhart, and Patricia “Patsy” Narey. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 PM to 4 PM in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
