Herbert H. Mollard Jr.; 85; of Washington Township; died Sunday; April 13; 2003 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Herbert and Amelia Jolley Mollard; he was born in Fairhope (Belle Vernon) on March 23; 1918. Mr. Mollard was a member of the Fayette City Christian Church where he had been an elder for over 30 years and was currently an elder emeritus. As a hobby; he enjoyed flying remote controlled airplanes in Rostraver Township. A lifelong resident of Washington Township; he had worked for 10 years as a coal miner and retired from Corning Glass after 34 years. Survivors include his wife of 63 years; Ethel Scanlon Mollard; and two sisters; Martha Houtz of Alabama and Doris Gerard of Charleroi. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by one brother and sister; John Mollard and Amelia McCamic. There will be no public visitation.
