Henry Ream,79 years of age and a veteran of the Civil war,died Thursday,March 11,1915, at the home of his daughter,Mrs. Fred F. Cooper of Hancock street,Monongahela. Death was due to heart trouble. Mr. Ream was born in Cambria county February 23,1836. He was twice married. He served in the Civil war as a member of Company I, 29th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He enlisted on February 18,1864 from Jefferson county,took part in several important engagements,was wounded and was honorably discharged July 11,1865,at Alexandria,Virginia. One of the pioneer settlers of Charleroi,Mr. Ream came to the Monongahela valley from Somerset county 25 years ago. He resided in Charleroi until two years ago,following the death of his second wife when he went to Monongahela to live with his daughter. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Monongahela. Seven children survive: Mrs. Fred F. Cooper,Monongahela;Harry Ream,Dixon,Illinois;Mrs. John M.Logue,Belle Vernon;Leslie Ream,Duquesne;Mrs. Andrew J. Scorer and Miss Hazel Ream,Belle Vernon an Miss Nellie Ream,Belle Vernon Three sisters,seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held at the Cooper home Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Interment to be private.
